THE LOST TIME – VR EXPERIENCE

The Lost Time is a 20-minute interactive 6DOF VR experience that brings the story of Holocaust survivor Margot Friedlaender to life in a powerful and deeply personal way. Developed in Unreal Engine, the project allows users to step into history and experience it through the perspective of a firsthand witness. Set in Berlin in 1943 and later in the Theresienstadt concentration camp, the narrative conveys Friedlaender’s survival story with emotional depth and authenticity. By using advanced volumetric capture technology, real human presence is preserved in digital form, creating an immersive environment where memories become spatial and tangible. The project’s goal is not only to document history but to make it experientially accessible. In collaboration with a state-of-the-art volumetric studio, Holocaust witnesses were captured in exceptional detail to preserve their testimonies for future generations. By combining cutting-edge technology with meaningful storytelling, The Lost Time establishes a new form of remembrance-intimate, impactful, and enduring.
